Introduction

Welcome to My Blog

I started this blog to share what everyday life is like for ordinary people in Japan. Many of the things we do may seem small or ordinary—but they reflect something very special: a deep sense of respect, kindness, and mindfulness toward others.

While much information about Japan focuses on tourist attractions, food, and shopping, I believe the true heart of Japan lies in the unnoticed details of daily life.

Through this blog, I hope to give you a deeper understanding of the culture and values behind what we do every day.

Why Now? Japan’s Growing Popularity

Japan has seen a remarkable increase in international visitors in recent years.

According to official statistics, approximately 42.7 million people visited Japan in 2025, setting a new record. Similar numbers are expected in 2026, and the government has set an ambitious target of 60 million visitors by 2030.

When I watch interviews with travelers at airports, many express admiration for Japan’s cleanliness, politeness, safety, and high level of service.

However, I sometimes wonder—do they truly experience the deeper side of Japan?

Most visitors enjoy famous landmarks, gourmet food, and shopping. But these are only the surface. It is not easy to understand the deeper values and mindset that shape everyday life in Japan.

As a Japanese person, I would like international visitors to understand the real life and mindset of Japan—something I deeply appreciate and take pride in.

From my perspective, having lived in Japan for many decades, I feel that not many sources fully capture the details of everyday life or the deeper cultural values behind it.

In my previous career, I worked in international marketing at a Japanese electronics company, where I gained experience in understanding different cultures and lifestyles around the world.

Now, I am turning that perspective inward—focusing on Japan itself. Through this blog, I aim to share the deeper aspects of Japanese life and culture that are often difficult to see from the outside.

I hope my experience helps me convey the true spirit of Japan in a meaningful way.

For Those Who Interact with Tourists

As tourism becomes increasingly important in Japan, more people—both Japanese and foreign residents—are interacting with international visitors in everyday situations such as hotels, restaurants, shops, and public spaces.

Today, it is not only tour guides who introduce Japanese culture—it is all of us.

That is why I hope this blog can be helpful for anyone who wants to explain Japan more clearly and meaningfully.

Especially for those working in tourism and service industries, I hope it provides insight not only into what visitors see, but also why those things matter to us.
